An English teacher and Department Chair for over 25 years, I am in my seventh year as a secondary-level Literacy Coach. For the last few years, my work has been focused on moving our school--and district-- toward implementation of a proficiency-based system. We've worked hard to build a collaborative culture as we develop a common understanding of what we want students to know and be able to do.
